Today we tried a typing speed test on typingtest.com I scored 27 words per minute. The average person can type 36 words per minute. The good thing is that I can get better. My goal is to reach 38 words per minute by next Friday the 29th of October. Log in and see what you can do.

I kid you not, Room 2 are pretty good at blogging! They have taught their teacher a thing or two.
Today our lesson on Blogging was a refresher about Why we Blog and to add more detail. Today we shared our thoughts about why we Blog and the information that informs our readers.
We quickly looked at how to create a Reflective Blog, which helps us focus on our learning. We also looked at how to label our blog for easy searching when we need to find our Reading, Writing, or Maths reflections.

Welcome Back to Term 4 of 2022!
It's been a long time I lockdown and we are all looking forward to getting back to school.
Today we tried our first interactive learning using Nearpod and managed to add our ideas for each of the following questions. Which helped us to begin thinking about goals for Term 4.
Here are my thoughts:
Reflection on Lockdown.
What I didn't like about Lockdown was having to stay inside.
My mother turned 90 years old on the 15th of October and I couldn't go home to share her birthday with her. Fortunately family had small gatherings and celebrations for her and she celebrated all week!
What we are looking forward to when we go back to school.
I'm looking forward to seeing all my students and all their fabulous smiles when we can finally go back to school.
What we want to get out of school in term 4.
I want to prepare my students for next year. Their learning in 2022. Most of all have some fun at school.

It's great to have students logging onto our Google meet from Monday to Thursday morning s at 10am. Room 2 students can click on the Google Meet picture below to join our Class Meet.
Room 2 Students have been working on the challenging writing task of writing Narrative Super hero stories. I am loving the original stories.
Gabby has a Superhero mum with laser vision, a mind that can move things and she can use a magic siapo that can take them back in time to save her Dad from the horrid villian Timebreaker.
Moses is telling the story of a kidnapped Queen, a distraught King and the Supers that must save the Queen from the Dreaded Kidnapper...
Lie and Zion are writing about KingZob and his Zombies that are taking over the world with his gross Zomblobs, when they burst releases a toxic goo that infects the world and turns people into Zombies. Yuck!!! Stong visual description in this story!
Sione is writing about how his team of Supers are claaed by Superman to find Area 51 and save the Earth from Alien invasion.
Lie has written a story about the power of six precious and powerful stones that are under the protection of the masterful Scarlet Witch and Vision. Together they need the help of the Supers to keep the Stones from the evil Ebony, Venom and Thanos.
Hesioni and his digital powers are experimenting with Wemovie to turn his superpower animation into a video.
I can't wait for the gripping stories to be finished! Keep posted....
Big up's to Moses, Zion and Gabby for consistently sticking with the online Room 2 Google Meet. It's great to see other students when they can pop in. Today was the first day Room 2 used Jamboard to collaborate our ideas. Each student contributed their thoughts on lockdown and created ideas for a free verse poem about their experiences during lockdown. Each colour represents a verse from each student to create a 4 verse Lockdown peom.

This term students have been completing tasks learning about financial literacy in groups and individually. Students have a budget of $100 and they are to shop online at certain stores. Through the shopping task students are learning how to work collaboratively, learn about fractions, decimals, rounding decimals, how to calculate percentages, and understanding division, all in a real-world context.
